Teddy
(Ted) Itzen Heaven looked sweeter as
Teddy (Ted) Doyle Itzen, age 72, left us today, October 12, 2011 after a
long battle with cancer. Ted came into our lives bringing with him a sense
of humor like no other, and an adventurous spirit. He completed our
family. Ted was born September 23, 1939. During the course of his life he
was involved in many different occupations. A man of many talents, he
worked on a farm until he became of age to join the Navy where he spent 4
yrs. He retired as Senior Capt. with 25 years of service with The Houston
Fire Dept. He and his wife Paula built and successfully ran 4 restaurants.
They also constructed and remodeled several houses. For a number of years,
he was involved in The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He later got
involved with private investigations and process serving. He played golf,
loved to fish and hunt, and an avid card and domino player and in his last
years enjoyed watching the red birds. Ted was preceded in death by his
father, Charles (Chuck); mother, Stella; sister, Jackie. He is survived by
his wife of 43 years, Paula; son Kenneth & wife Sharon; daughter, Jeannie
& fiancé Adam; brother; Charles & wife Martha; sisters, Barbara & husband
Jerry, Sammie & husband James; grandchildren, Heather & Hunter; adopted
grandson, Erick; special friends, Becky & Robert; 14 nieces & nephews;
many in-laws that loved him. He was an adored husband and father. Ted cut
a path thru this life and our hearts and he will be sorely missed by all
of us. We would like to thank the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
