Last fall, after six
months of very hard work, I submitted a revamped (new and way improved) version of the HFD's Annual Memorial
Service Program. The intention was to add more details for our eighty LOOD
Firefighters. This version would have given the reader a very deep insight of
the firefighters who gave their all. And would personalize each firefighter
where their old version did not even come close!
My
Line of Duty Committee representative (Gabe Dominquez) followed the process and was making sure
all went well with introducing the new and improve version. And keep in mind I
was recovering from major surgery and could not fend for myself.
The plan took a nosedive; PIO was planning to gut
my pages and instead of three firefighters to a page they were doing six to a
page just like all their past shabby memorial service programs. And sadly my
lodd rep was okay with that and most likely gave PIO the go ahead. I think he
drank to koolaid.
And I had no say in the final edits. And that was very
disrespectful..
And sadly PIO's
decsion not to use a new and much improved version (mine) something that means
alot to the LODD Familes, was very personal by a PIO staff member.
This was/is not acceptable
and I would not give them permission to "use" my version. Their second version was them
making a few changes after, as I was told, they had to pivot because of me, not much
improvement as you can see.
And to those who did not step up and
save the day, you know who you are! You slapped 80 HFD line of duty family
members across thier faces!! Shame on you!!
So the moral to this story, the HFD PIO, has not seen anything wrong with the orginal version (I used to try to give them tweaks, but they were not wanting my input). I have sent them all of the jpeg LODD photos in color and in their versions, there still of 6 ff's with no photos. Once again shame on all you at PIO.

very soon. Ronal G. Brown Sr. deceased September 8, 2018 and installed on the
IAFF Wall in 2019, as a Presumtive Illness. The son at the time "could not be
found" and the widow wanted nothing to with the flag or the IAFF metal. The IAFF
shipped the flag to our union hall, Octotober 2019. And is still there and
I only found out it was there last May.
